Chapter 22 - the broken perimeter

Dante’s armored SUV tore through the busy streets of Chicago with terrifying, demonic speed. He bypassed every single traffic law, his jaw locked in a state of pure, apocalyptic fury. No one threatened the little girl who had saved his soul.

When he arrived at the academy, his elite, heavily armed syndicate guards had already secured the perimeter, locking the entire school down. Dante stormed through the pristine hallways, his massive frame radiating absolute, suffocating authority.

He found Sophia sitting perfectly calm in the principal’s office, eating a small apple. She looked up at the towering mafia boss and smiled brightly, completely unfazed by the chaos.

The principal, however, was trembling violently, handing Dante a small, unmarked black envelope that the rogue vehicle had managed to drop at the front gates before speeding away.

Dante opened the envelope with lethal precision. Inside was a single, high-resolution photograph of Elena walking in the estate’s private rose garden just hours ago. On the back, written in thick, crimson ink, was a terrifying vow: the debt of ashes remains unpaid.
