Chapter 28 - the blood vow

Dante dragged the lead assassin down into the cold, soundproof subterranean bunker beneath the estate. The cinematic realism of the interrogation was absolutely chilling.
Dante didn't yell or strike the man. He simply placed a single, loaded handgun onto the metal table and sat across from the terrified captive.
"You have exactly one minute to give me the name of your employer," Dante whispered, his voice a low, demonic rumble. "If you lie, I will not kill you. I will keep you alive down here for the next thirty years."
The assassin, a hardened professional who had never broken under pressure, looked into Dante's pitch-black, soulless eyes and completely shattered. The aura of the apex predator was simply too overwhelming.
"It was Lorenzo Rossi," the assassin choked out frantically, sweating profusely. "The exiled brother of the New York patriarch! He's hiding in a penthouse in Montreal! He paid us to avenge his family!"
