Chapter 15 - confession in the night

That night, after the restaurant closed, Silas took Harper home in his armored supercar. The atmosphere in the car was quiet, with only soft Jazz music playing. Over the past six months, the feelings between them had grown far beyond a normal professional relationship.

Harper looked out the window, the streetlights gliding across her beautiful face. She knew Silas was a mob boss; his hands were stained with the blood of the underworld. But she also saw the boundless love he had for his deaf aunt.

"Why are you so good to me, Silas?" Harper suddenly turned to ask, breaking the silence.

Silas stopped the car in front of her apartment. He turned off the engine, turning to look deeply into the beautiful dark eyes of the woman sitting next to him. His large, scarred hand gently touched her hair.

"Because you are the only one who looks at me with the eyes of a human, not a beast," Silas said, his deep, warm voice containing absolute sincerity. "You bring light to my bloody world, Harper."
