Chapter 5 - The Disarmed Enforcer

A medium shot captured the violent shift in Silas's entire demeanor.

The terrifying, aggressive anger that had contorted his handsome face completely vanished. The muscles in his broad shoulders instantly relaxed. He turned his head slowly, looking away from his crying aunt and locking his intense gaze onto the young waitress.

He stared at Harper in absolute surprise and profound disbelief.

In Silas’s dark, violent underworld, communication was usually done with threats, guns, and intimidation. He had brought his aunt to this expensive restaurant hoping money would buy her respect, only to watch her be publicly humiliated.

But this young woman in a burgundy vest hadn't used money or violence. She had used empathy.

Harper gently pulled a small notepad from her apron and handed a pen directly to Eleanor, offering a polite, silent nod to confirm they could take their time with the order.

A tight close-up focused on Silas. The rugged mafia enforcer stared at the waitress, clearly moved to his absolute core. His slow eye movement tracked her every gentle gesture.

👉 Harper answered him with a simple smile, but the arrogant waiter from earlier was about to return with his manager.
