Chapter 3 - The Unexpected Intervention

"Excuse me."
The voice was entirely calm, completely cutting through the heavy, lethal tension at the table.
Silas turned his head sharply, ready to unleash his fury on whoever dared to interrupt him. But his intense glare was met by a young woman in her twenties.
It was Harper. She was a waitress at the restaurant, wearing a crisp white shirt, a burgundy vest, a black bowtie, and a clean white apron. Her dark hair was pulled back into a neat bun. She didn't look terrified of Silas’s tattoos, and she didn't look intimidated by his massive, imposing frame.
She offered him a polite, reassuring nod before turning her attention entirely to the elderly woman sitting at the table.
Silas tensed, fully preparing to physically block her if she attempted to mock his aunt the way the previous waiter had.
But Harper didn't raise her voice. She didn't exaggerate her mouth movements.

She walked directly up to Eleanor. She looked warmly at the older woman, offering a genuinely beautiful, compassionate smile. Then, with breathtaking, cinematic slowness, Harper raised her hands.
👉 Silas watched in absolute shock as the young waitress performed an action that would completely shatter the tension in the room.
