Chapter 26 - the silent hunt

Silas knew that defending a fortress was useless if the enemy sniper was never eliminated. He bypassed the corporate IT division entirely, tapping directly into the dark, lethal underworld network he still quietly and absolutely controlled.
He summoned a ghost squad of elite syndicate hackers, setting up a military-grade command center in the hotel's subterranean safe room. The air was thick with tension as they furiously traced the malicious code back to its original source.
"Viktor is routing his signal through multiple offshore proxy servers," Silas's lead operative reported. "But he made one microscopic, fatal error. He used a localized satellite relay to monitor the hotel's physical blackout in real-time."
Silas’s jaw locked into unyielding stone. He didn't just trace the digital footprint; he extracted the exact physical GPS coordinates of the relay. Viktor wasn't hiding in Europe. The arrogant phantom was operating right here in Chicago.
