Chapter 19 - absolute protection
"I'm late," Silas whispered, his voice trembling with extreme fear at the thought of losing her forever. "I'm sorry. There will never be a second time."
Harper hugged him tightly, the tears she had held back for so long finally falling. Her resilience had been rewarded with the most solid and safest embrace in this world. Silas's broad shoulders shielded her from every storm.
That very night, a bloody purge took place all across Chicago. The Red Snake gang had committed the biggest taboo: touching Silas's woman. The rival organization was completely wiped off the map of the underworld within a mere six hours.
