Chapter 16 - the wicked woman strikes back
While Marisol began her hopeful new life, the Vale family was plunging into catastrophic ruin. Caleb's sanctions had caused the Vale corporation to lose tens of billions of dollars, their stock plummeting uncontrollably.
Celeste was thrown out of her luxury mansion and forced to move into a tiny apartment. Humiliation and hatred ate away at her soul. She frantically believed that this entire tragedy was caused by Marisol and her daughter.
Through her remaining underground connections, Celeste hired a private investigator to follow Caleb. When she found out Caleb was sponsoring Marisol and her child, and bringing her into his corporation, her jealousy exploded fiercely.
"A ragged maid dares to steal my place?" Celeste hissed, smashing a glass cup on the table. She picked up the phone, calling a hardened gangster. "I need you to take care of that mother and child."
She didn't want Caleb back anymore. She wanted him to endure the agony of losing the people he was protecting. The kidnapping plot against little Daisy was mapped out in an incredibly detailed and extremely sinister manner.
