When Caleb woke up, the gentle morning light was shining into the hospital room. The aching pain from his wound made him frown slightly. Immediately, he felt a soft hand tightly gripping his, refusing to let go.

Marisol was resting her head next to the bed, her eyes red from staying up all night. Daisy was also asleep on the sofa in the corner of the room. Seeing that scene, the powerful billionaire's heart overflowed with boundless warmth.

He slightly moved his fingers. Marisol woke with a start, tears welling up again. "You're awake! Do you know how worried I and the kid were?" she choked out, gently caressing her brave husband's pale face.

"I promised to protect our family," Caleb whispered, flashing a weak but incredibly sincere smile. "Even if it costs me my life, I will never let anyone hurt you two ever again."

Hearing the noise, Daisy ran over, hugging her dad's uninjured arm tightly. "I love you the most in the world, Dad," she chirped. The storm had passed, leaving behind an enduring love that nothing could shake.
