Chapter 19 - hell on earth

Inside the dark, musty warehouse, little Daisy was screaming in sheer terror. Celeste stood in front of the little girl, flashing a maniacal and wicked smile. She slapped the innocent child hard across the face, unleashing all her despicable hatred.
But before she could swing her hand a second time, the massive steel door of the warehouse was smashed to pieces by an armored vehicle. Caleb's special task force stormed in like a hurricane, completely subduing the gangsters in mere seconds.
Caleb stepped out of the car, his murderous intent surging. He walked straight toward Celeste. She panicked and backed away, hastily pointing a gun at little Daisy's head as a hostage. "Don't come any closer! I'll kill her! You destroyed me, Caleb!"
Caleb didn't stop walking. With unimaginable speed, he drew his gun and fired an incredibly precise shot. It pierced straight through Celeste's wrist, causing the gun to drop to the ground. She collapsed, screaming in ultimate agony.
He gently picked little Daisy up, holding her tightly in his protective embrace. The little girl wrapped her arms around his neck, her crying gradually subsiding thanks to the familiar sense of safety. Caleb looked down at Celeste, his eyes like the grim reaper judging a sinful soul.
