Chapter 11 - the midnight call
Six months after kicking the cruel manager out of the estate, Don Vincenzo's life was completely revitalized. Thanks to Elena's dedicated care and kind heart, he had begun to move his fingers and smiled much more.
Alessandro, the notorious mafia boss, also gradually changed. He spent more time at home, stepping back from bloody deals to sit in the warm sunroom, watching his father and the young housekeeper chat happily.
However, peace rarely lasts long in the underworld. One night, while the entire estate was in a silent sleep, the secure phone in Alessandro's office suddenly rang. A call from the emergency line.
"Boss," the voice of Marcus, Alessandro's right-hand man, came through urgently and incredibly tense. "An unknown group of hitmen just attacked Pier 4. They didn't steal the cargo; they burned the entire warehouse to the ground."
