Chapter 57 - the beast's fury

Julian didn't even flinch. He pivoted flawlessly, catching the mercenary's wrist mid-swing with bone-crushing force. He twisted the massive man's arm until a sickening snap echoed through the lab, forcing the machete to drop.

With a devastating, perfectly executed spinning kick, Julian sent the mercenary crashing backward into a heavy table of chemical vials. The man collapsed, completely incapacitated.

"Secure the lab! Extract the prisoners!" Julian roared to his team, picking Clara up in his arms and sprinting toward the exit.

They escaped the warehouse just as local federal authorities, tipped off anonymously by Sophia's intelligence network, swarmed the shipyard. The mercenaries and rogue chemists were entirely surrounded and arrested.

Julian set Clara down safely in the armored extraction vehicle, holding her face in his hands. He kissed her deeply, tears of profound relief mixing with the cold rain on his cheeks.

"I promised I would always protect you," Julian said, his voice trembling with overwhelming emotion. "Nobody touches my family."
