Chapter 115 - The invisible snare

The Aegis hackers greedily continued their digital assault, completely unaware they were being brilliantly outmaneuvered. As they bypassed Sophie's intentionally weakened secondary firewall, the rogue algorithm flooded into a highly contained, isolated server mimicking the conglomerate's primary offshore bank accounts. The Council thought they had won the war. Instead, the trap snapped shut with devastating, catastrophic finality. "We have their physical location, Ruby," Sophie announced, her voice ringing with absolute, triumphant authority. "The central authentication server isn't in Rome. It is located in a heavily fortified, abandoned subterranean military bunker hidden deep in the snowy mountains of Switzerland." Ruby’s jaw locked into unyielding stone. The cyber-war was officially over. The physical, bloody reckoning was about to begin. She checked the magazine of her tactical weapon, her eyes radiating pure, unadulterated fury.
