Chapter 36 - cornering the boss

Sophie and Ruby didn't hesitate. They scaled the metal staircase leading to the elevated office in seconds, kicking open the reinforced glass door with a violent crash. Victor Rossi stood alone by the executive desk, his face drenched in cold sweat, his gun shaking uncontrollably in his grip.

"You... you're monsters!" Victor stammered, raising his weapon with trembling hands, completely losing all his arrogant bravado. "You're just like your ruthless father!"

"Our father taught us how to protect our family," Sophie stated coldly, stepping slowly toward him while keeping her weapon trained directly on his chest. "You brought war to our doorstep, Victor. Now you pay the ultimate price."

Victor tried to raise his gun to fire, but Ruby moved with blinding, supernatural speed. She fired a single, perfectly aimed round that shattered the weapon right out of his hand, sending metal shards flying across the room.
