Chapter 34 - the rail yard ambush
The sprawling rail yard was bathed in the sickly yellow glow of flickering overhead floodlights. Dozens of Victor Rossi's heavily armed mercenaries patrolled the perimeter, completely unaware that the apex predators had already infiltrated their stronghold.
Sophie and Ruby's tactical team moved like absolute phantoms through the shadows, neutralizing the outer guards with silent, flawless precision. Not a single alarm was raised as the twins breached the main warehouse building where Victor was stationed.
Inside, Victor was laughing loudly with his top commanders, drinking expensive whiskey while looking over architectural maps of the Moretti penthouse. He truly believed he had caught the twin heirs completely off guard.
The heavy steel doors of the warehouse suddenly burst inward with a deafening crash, blown off their hinges by a synchronized tactical charge. Smoke grenades flooded the interior, blinding the panicked mercenaries in thick white fog.
