The cinematic tension in the dining room spiked to a paralyzing level. Dominic’s face turned the color of wet ash. He was completely humiliated, utterly outmaneuvered by a woman who refused to be intimidated by his violent reputation.
Adrian stood behind Sophie, a rare, genuine smile blooming across his hardened features. He had expected to protect her, but she had flawlessly protected his territory using nothing but intellect and absolute, unyielding courage.
"You heard the General Manager," Adrian whispered softly, his deep voice carrying a dark, demonic promise of violence that paralyzed the entire room. "Get out of her restaurant, Dominic. Before I let my men clean the floor with your silver suit."
Dominic swallowed hard, terrified of the executioner standing inches away. He realized he was outgunned. He turned on his heel and stormed out the glass doors in sheer disgrace, his enforcers trailing behind him like pathetic cowards.
