Chapter 5 - The Financial Guillotine
"Liquidate her stock portfolio," Adrian ordered, his dark eyes locked onto the weeping manager on the floor.
"No! Please! I have a mortgage!" Victoria wailed, clawing at the expensive carpet.
"Freeze her bank accounts," Adrian continued, completely ignoring her pathetic tears. "Transfer every single dollar she stole from the staff directly back into their paychecks, with interest. I want her completely bankrupt, destitute, and stripped of every asset she owns by the time the market opens tomorrow morning."
"Understood, Boss," the CFO replied. "The transfer is complete. She is entirely insolvent."
Victoria physically sagged against the floor, her entire toxic existence turning to ash. She had abused her power for years, and in exactly sixty seconds, she had lost absolutely everything.
But the financial destruction was only the very beginning of her punishment.
Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows of the restaurant, the flashing red and blue lights of multiple police cruisers began to illuminate the Chicago skyline.
Adrian’s private security detail had contacted the FBI the second he confirmed the embezzlement.
The heavy glass front doors of the restaurant burst open. A dozen federal agents swarmed into the luxury dining room. Adrian calmly handed the lead detective a flash drive containing the undeniable banking evidence.
"Victoria Vance," the detective announced. "You are under arrest for massive wire fraud, grand larceny, and corporate embezzlement."
"Don't touch me!" Victoria shrieked as the officers forcefully hauled her to her feet, slapping heavy steel handcuffs over her wrists.

They dragged the screaming, thrashing manager directly through the center of the restaurant, parading her in front of every single elite diner she had tried to impress. Her reputation and freedom were permanently destroyed.
