The morning after Victoria's spectacular downfall, the atmosphere inside the Linden Room was entirely transformed. The suffocating tension had vanished, replaced by a profound energy. The staff arrived early, whispering in absolute awe about the waitress who had just become the ultimate boss.
Sophie stood by the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, wearing a stunning, tailored black executive suit that Adrian had personally ordered for her. She didn't look like a battered employee anymore; she radiated calm, unyielding authority.
She called the entire staff into the dining room. She didn't scream or belittle them like Victoria had. She spoke with genuine respect, instantly raising their wages and returning the thousands of dollars Victoria had stolen from their tip pools.
Tears of relief flowed freely among the waiters and chefs. For the first time in years, they felt entirely safe.
