Chapter 14 - the silent alarms

Sophie didn't panic or freeze in terror. She remembered the bravery she had displayed against Victoria, and her soul hardened into impenetrable steel. She calmly slid under her mahogany desk and pressed the silent biometric panic button.
She didn't run into the dark hallway to confront them. She stayed perfectly still, watching the backup analog camera feeds on her phone. Four heavily armed men were sweeping the kitchen, moving closer to the main office.
Miles away in his luxury penthouse, Adrian's secure terminal flashed a blinding, warning red. The distress signal from the Linden Room had been activated.
The terrifying, untouchable apex predator completely awakened. Adrian grabbed a heavy tactical sidearm from his hidden safe, his dark eyes radiating pure, unadulterated fury. Dominic had dared to attack his territory and threaten the woman he respected most.
