Chapter 21 - the apex predator

Adrian didn't send an army of street thugs to the naval shipyard. He mobilized his most elite, fiercely loyal syndicate enforcers. They moved with the terrifying precision of true phantoms, utilizing thermal cloaking and suppressed weaponry.

The stealth convoy tore through the freezing, empty streets of Chicago, heading straight into the heart of the enemy's den. When they arrived at the desolate shipyard, a thick fog rolled off the ocean, perfectly masking their approach.

Dozens of Marcus's rogue mercenaries patrolled the perimeter, confident that their superior firepower made them completely untouchable. They were catastrophically wrong.

Adrian breached the outer fence himself. He materialized from the dark shadows like a ghost. He used flawless, bone-crushing close-quarters combat. He neutralized the first guard with a devastating neck strike, lowering the unconscious body to the wet gravel.
