With the violent threat completely banished from the restaurant, Sophie returned to her executive duties. She walked into Victoria's old private study, intending to fully audit the remaining financial files.
Behind a heavy mahogany bookshelf, Sophie noticed a loose floorboard. Using a letter opener, she pried the wood up, revealing a small, hidden biometric safe. She contacted Adrian's cyber-team, who bypassed the lock in less than five minutes.
Inside rested a thick, leather-bound black ledger. Sophie opened it, her eyes widening in pure, unadulterated shock. Victoria hadn't just been embezzling tips from the waitstaff; she had been running a massive, highly illegal money-laundering operation.
The ledger contained detailed, heavily documented records proving that Victoria was actively funneling millions of dollars of cartel money directly into Dominic's offshore accounts. She was using the Linden Room as a front to betray Adrian's entire syndicate.
