Chapter 13 - the cartel's revenge

Dominic wasn't a fool. He realized that if Adrian found Victoria's hidden ledger, his entire multi-million-dollar money-laundering network would completely collapse, and he would face the apocalyptic wrath of the Voss syndicate.

He needed to destroy the evidence and the woman who had humiliated him. At two in the morning, while the restaurant was closed, Dominic dispatched a highly specialized, heavily armed mercenary team to the Linden Room.

The mercenaries moved with terrifying precision, bypassing the outer perimeter of the building. They wore advanced tactical gear and carried suppressed assault rifles, intending to execute Sophie and burn the restaurant to the ground.

However, they vastly underestimated the new General Manager. Sophie hadn't gone home to sleep. She was still sitting in the main office, finalizing payroll and meticulously securing the restaurant's new financial protocols.
