Chapter 16 - a flawless picture

Many years passed gently and smoothly, bringing countless good things. Vance's auto repair shop grew increasingly prosperous, becoming the most reputable address in the entire town area.

Abby was now a pretty and intelligent high school teenager. She was always proud to brag to her friends about her wonderful father, a man covered in tattoos but possessing a kind heart.

One radiant weekend afternoon, the whole family organized a picnic together at the central park. Vance was grilling meat over the glowing coals, while Sarah and Abby laid out the blanket and prepared the drinks.

There were no more scrutinizing or apprehensive looks from the people around them. They looked at the Vance family with admiration. Sincere love and kindness had gradually erased all of society's harshest prejudices.
