Chapter 24 - the steel fortress
The battered pickup truck tore through the rusty iron gates of an abandoned factory located deep within the dense forest. This was the safe house Vance had mentioned, an underground fortress protected by former mercenaries.
As Vance stepped out of the car, three rugged men carrying heavy weaponry ran over to assist. They were old teammates who had stood side by side with him on life-or-death missions. Their brotherhood born from shared life and death remained fully intact.
"You brought big trouble, Vance," Marcus, the squad leader, said with a laugh, patting him hard on the shoulder. "But I'm always ready for a hunt. Get your wife and kid into the bunker; let me handle the rest."
Sarah and Abby were led into the fortified underground bunker and provided with food and warm blankets. Seeing that his family was absolutely safe, Vance's eyes flared with an ultimate flame of resentment and murderous intent.
He wasn't going to keep running anymore. To protect his daughter's future, he had to chop off the head of the venomous snake, El Muerte. He equipped himself with tactical weapons, putting on his familiar black Kevlar armor.
