Chapter 17 - the visit

Blake's mansion was located in an affluent suburban neighborhood, equipped with a 24/7 camera security system and motion sensors. He was always confident that this was an impenetrable fortress.
At exactly 2:00 AM, a dark shadow silently slithered over the three-meter-high perimeter wall without making the slightest sound. Damon moved incredibly smoothly, like flowing water in the night.
Using top-secret infiltration skills, the former operative easily disabled the camera network with a compact jamming device. The security system was completely paralyzed in a truly terrifying manner.
Damon pried open the glass door lock on the outer balcony and stepped softly into the bedroom. Blake was sleeping soundly on the massive bed, completely unaware that a phantom of death was standing right beside him.
He carried no weapons. He simply stood quietly in the corner of the room, radiating a bone-chilling murderous aura. The invisible pressure from the hunter's presence made the room's temperature feel as if it had plummeted.
