Chapter 34 - the phantom awakens
Damon was peeling apples in the small kitchen when the old satellite phone hidden in the secret drawer suddenly rang. A death toll he had always hoped he would never have to hear for the rest of his life.
He answered the phone. Evan's desperate panting on the other end of the line was accompanied by a series of sharp, deafening gunshots. It didn't take Damon two seconds to understand the severity of the situation. The enemy had struck ruthlessly.
The phone dropped onto the table. The monster that had slept for fifteen years in the chest of the Tier 1 former operative truly awakened, dragging along a terrifying, bone-chilling murderous aura that could freeze anyone.
Damon stepped down into the secret basement, opening the armored iron trunk. Inside were a pitch-black tactical suit, Kevlar armor, weapons, and tactical blades. He put them on with the terrifying silence of a killing machine.

Getting into the old pickup truck, Damon slammed on the gas and dashed into the night. The enemy thought they could use Evan to threaten him. They had no idea they had just dug their own graves. The invisible phantom had officially returned to the battlefield.
