Chapter 38 - the bloody battle

Silas swung his tactical dagger straight at Damon's chest. With supreme reflexes, Damon used his forearm to parry the blade, simultaneously throwing a devastating hook punch to his opponent's ribs. The sound of cracking bones echoed clearly.
Silas staggered but still charged forward madly. The two men clashed with the most lethal takedown strikes. Every punch, every submission hold carried the pent-up hatred of fifteen grueling years that could never be resolved.
Damon received a deep cut on his bicep, blood soaking his sleeve. But physical pain could not stop his iron will. Exploiting an opening when Silas overswung the knife, Damon wrapped his arms around his neck in an incredibly vicious chokehold.
The immense squeezing force of the former operative suffocated Silas. The dagger fell clattering to the floor. The traitor's face turned purple, his eyes rolling back begging for life. If Damon just applied force, his neck would snap instantly.
