Chapter 4 - The Challenge

Damon waited patiently until the heavy glass doors of the gym swung shut, ensuring his sensitive son was completely out of the building and safely shielded from the violence that was about to unfold.

After Evan left, Damon slowly stood up. He turned his powerfully built body entirely toward Blake Haron.

"Apologize to my son. Refund the fee," Damon stated. His voice wasn't a shout. It was flat, quiet, and carried the absolute, freezing weight of a direct, non-negotiable military command.

Blake threw his head back and laughed loudly, a sharp, mocking sound that echoed through the tense, crowded spectator area. The arrogant champion looked Damon up and down, his eyes scanning the faded jeans, the gray work shirt, and the heavy flannel overshirt with pure, unfiltered disgust.

"He needs toughening up," Blake sneered, stepping aggressively into Damon's personal space, fully attempting to physically intimidate the older, working-class father in front of the forty watching parents. "You're raising a weakling, plumber."

Damon remained absolutely, terrifyingly calm. He didn't take a single step backward.

Seeing that the older man wasn't cowering in fear, Blake’s toxic ego demanded a public spectacle. He wanted to entirely destroy the father just as he had humiliated the son.

Blake pointed a heavily taped finger aggressively down at the bright blue training mat.

"Think you know better?" Blake challenged, his voice rising theatrically for the crowd to hear. "Prove it."

"Are you sure?" Damon asked softly, his dark eyes locking onto the champion with a dead, unblinking intensity.

"Full contact," Blake grinned maliciously, cracking his knuckles.
