Chapter 35 - deadly silence

Damon arrived at the police station when it was already tightly surrounded by Silas's guards. He didn't charge straight in through the front doors. Using the skills of a phantom, he climbed into the ventilation shafts on the roof, blending into the shadows.

Inside the building, the mercenaries were scouring every floor. The first soldier walked past the quiet hallway area. An armored hand reached down from the ceiling, snapping his neck in less than a split second.

The soldier's corpse was pulled up into the ceiling without a sound. The second man, who was checking a blind corner, had a freezing cold dagger thrust straight through his throat from behind. He collapsed to the floor, his eyes wide open in sheer terror.

The mysterious disappearance of their teammates began to cause panic among the mercenaries. They called out to each other over the radios but only received terrifying static interference in return. An invisible death was slowly creeping closer, suffocating their will to fight.
