Chapter 39 - justice served

Silas collapsed onto the freezing floor, coughing violently and completely losing his ability to fight back. The brutal arrogance of the mercenary had been crushed beneath the heavy boots of the former operative. He looked at Damon with eyes of utter terror.

Evan walked into the room, holding steel figure-eight handcuffs. The young police officer loudly read the arrest warrant, tightly locking the hands of the man who had brought a nightmare to the entire police station. Justice was finally served in a completely fulfilling manner.

The federal FBI special task force rushed in shortly after. They took over the scene and escorted Silas and the remnants of his gang into armored vehicles. The traitor would face a life sentence without parole in the harshest prison.

The FBI commander walked over, giving Damon a respectful look. He knew the true identity of this invisible phantom well, but decided to remain silent. The case file would record this as an outstanding achievement by the local police force.
