Chapter 19 - the confidence
The following weeks passed in peace. The sudden disappearance of the coach became the topic of gossip throughout the town, but no one knew the truth.
Evan began to change noticeably. The boy was no longer timid, hanging his head every time he walked. The teachings of his father that day had planted the seed of true confidence in his heart.
He understood that power was not the ability to knock others down, but self-mastery. At school, Evan even bravely stepped in to stop a bullying incident, protecting a classmate.
He didn't use his fists, but an incredible calmness, his unwavering eyes mirroring the silhouette of his father. The bullies felt deterred by that strong aura and voluntarily walked away.
As Damon watched his son from afar, a rare smile of fulfillment bloomed on the lips of the former operative. The disguise of a tired plumber had brilliantly accomplished its sacred mission.
