Chapter 29 - the dawn of hope
When the SWAT team stormed the plant, they were completely astounded by the sight of dozens of heavily armed mercenaries lying scattered around, groaning in pain without a single fatal casualty. The one who took them down had completely vanished like a phantom.
In the middle of the room, Officer Evan Carter stood up straight, escorting the boss Viktor to hand him over to the police chief. The police chief patted his shoulder hard, his eyes overflowing with pride. He had single-handedly broken an extremely dangerous criminal ring and closed a major case.
From a distant hill looking down at the plant area, Damon stood silently under the dim moonlight. He watched his son being loaded into an ambulance for medical checks. The invisible phantom's mission had been executed flawlessly, and now it was time for him to disappear into the night.
The next morning, the warm dawn light shone through the window of the father and son's small house. Damon was brewing coffee in the kitchen, looking like an ordinary, humble plumber as usual. The door opened, and Evan walked in with a few layers of white gauze on his arm.
