Chapter 1 - The Crumbling Ballroom

The grand luxury hotel lobby was an absolute masterpiece of cinematic wealth. Towering golden columns stretched up to a ceiling adorned with massive, glittering crystal chandeliers. But tonight, the pristine peace of the marble floors was violently shattered by the sound of chaos.

Through the large double glass doors of the main ballroom, an army of hotel staff was actively dismantling a lavish, breathtaking party. Expensive floral centerpieces were being ripped off tables. Crystal champagne towers were being wheeled away. The extravagant celebration was being torn apart right before it even began.

Standing perfectly still in the center of the lobby, watching the destruction with a stern, completely resolute expression, was Evelyn.

The elegant woman in her sixties wore a flawless emerald green satin cowl-neck dress that draped beautifully across her shoulders. Her short grey hair was perfectly styled, and in her hands, she calmly clasped a small silver clutch. She didn't look panicked. She looked like a queen watching a rebellion being crushed.

Suddenly, a harsh, screeching voice echoed from the hotel entrance, cutting through the ambient noise of the lobby.

"Why is everything being taken down?!"

Sherry, a woman in her late fifties, stormed into the lobby. She wore a gaudy, sparkly gold sequin jacket over a tight black top, her short blonde hair bouncing with every furious step. She clutched a gold handbag, her face twisted in absolute, unadulterated outrage. "I approved this entire party!"

👉 Sherry thought the hotel had made a catastrophic mistake, but she had absolutely no idea she was staring directly at the architect of her destruction.
