Chapter 5 - The Hotel Manager's Desk

An hour before the party was scheduled to begin, Evelyn walked into the grand luxury hotel lobby.

The golden columns and crystal chandeliers sparkled flawlessly. Through the double glass doors, she could see the breathtaking setup. The ice sculptures, the imported orchids, the velvet drapery—it was a visual masterpiece of wealth.

Evelyn walked directly to the event manager’s desk.

"Mrs. Evelyn," the manager smiled warmly, recognizing the woman who had paid the massive bill in cash just days prior. "The ballroom looks spectacular. We are ready for the guests."

"Cancel it," Evelyn said, her voice completely calm, restrained, and echoing with cinematic realism.

The manager blinked, utterly confused. "I'm sorry? Cancel the catering?"

"Cancel everything," Evelyn instructed, her slow eye movement locking onto the manager. "I am officially withdrawing my financial sponsorship for this event. Refund the twenty-seven thousand dollars to my account immediately. You have my permission to tear down every single unpaid luxury in that room."

Because the contract was entirely in Evelyn's name, the hotel had no choice but to comply. The manager immediately signaled the staff.

Within minutes, the elegant ballroom turned into a construction zone as waiters and decorators frantically began pulling down the expensive upgrades.
