Chapter 16 - the little angel
The opening day of "Sweet Haven" - Maya's bakery - was incredibly bustling. The display cabinets were filled with fruit tarts, chocolate cakes, and brightly colored macarons.
Amidst the busy crowd of customers, a black bulletproof car pulled up abruptly in front of the door. Dante stepped out, guiding Elena beside him. With them was little Sophia, looking incredibly adorable and pretty in a pink lace dress.
Upon seeing Maya standing behind the pastry counter, Sophia let go of her parents' hands and ran towards her. The little girl's blue eyes were shining. Maya hurried out, kneeling down to pull the little angel into a tight embrace.
"Miss Maya!" Sophia cheered, her voice clear and joyful. She was no longer a silent, terrified little girl like the night at the restaurant. Her trauma had been healed by the loving arms of her parents.
Elena stepped forward, taking Maya's hands with deep gratitude. "If it weren't for your bravery, I don't know what would have become of my family. You didn't just save Sophia; you saved my life too."

Maya smiled radiantly, handing Sophia a cute little cupcake decorated with a purple sugar flower. The little girl accepted it, her eyes crinkling into a smile. Purple is always a symbol of luck and hope.
