Later that night, after the guests had departed and the glittering chandeliers were dimmed to a soft amber glow, Dante and Maya walked out onto the private balcony overlooking the glittering Manhattan skyline.
The soft rain began to glisten against the massive glass panes, blurring the golden streetlights into romantic streaks. The cool night air carried the faint, sweet fragrance of fresh white roses from the indoor gardens.
