Chapter 39 - the italian celebration

To celebrate their ultimate victory and profound peace, Dante took Maya and Sophia on a luxurious, private vacation to his ancestral homeland in Tuscany, Italy. The sprawling, sun-drenched villa overlooked magnificent rolling vineyards.
The warm Mediterranean breeze carried the scent of blooming lavender and fresh citrus. Away from the towering skyscrapers and dark alleys of Manhattan, they finally had the opportunity to truly breathe and heal.
One spectacular evening, Dante arranged a breathtaking, private dinner on the villa's expansive stone terrace. Golden fairy lights twinkled softly above them, illuminating a table adorned with fresh white roses and exquisite Italian cuisine.
Maya wore a stunning, flowing ivory silk gown that perfectly complemented her porcelain-fair skin. She looked like an absolute queen, radiant and completely free from the burdens of her impoverished past.
Dante raised a crystal glass of vintage wine, his pale-gray eyes locked onto Maya with profound, unguarded devotion. "To the woman who gave me a reason to fight, and a reason to live," he toasted softly.
