Chapter 11 - the persistent dark shadow
Six months of peace passed after Mark was sent to federal prison. Claire had completely mastered her new life. Her twin boys, Leo and Max, were now growing up healthy and extremely happy in the luxurious penthouse.
The corporation under Claire's leadership not only recovered but grew strongly. The wounds of the past seemed to have receded deep into the past, giving way to the brightest and most radiant dawn.
However, the cruel world of power never lets people rest. One morning, as Claire was preparing to take her two children to school, she received a mysterious, anonymous package delivered straight to the apartment.
Inside the old cardboard box was a set of extremely complex encrypted financial documents, along with a candid photo of the two boys playing in Central Park. The hidden enemy was quietly monitoring every move of her family.
Attached was a handwritten note: "Mark was just a stupid puppet. The real deadly game isn't over yet, queen."
