Chapter 18 - the speech
Stepping onto the gorgeous stage under flashing camera lights, Claire accepted the prestigious "Inspirational Woman of the Year" award. The massive hall plunged into silence, waiting for words of wisdom from the extraordinary female CEO.
"Years ago, I used to think that losing a marriage was the end of my life," Claire began her speech, her voice clear yet carrying an immense inner strength.
"But I realized that we cannot control the cruelty of others, but we have every right to decide how we rise from the ashes. Betrayal does not define my worth; it only forges me to be sharper."
Thousands of eyes looked at her in admiration. In the front row, her father smiled proudly to the point of tears. He knew what his daughter had been through to stand on this dazzling and glorious podium of honor.
"Turn pain into a shield, and use compassion as your weapon," Claire concluded resoundingly. "We are not victims; we are victors." The entire hall stood up in unison to deliver thunderous, roaring applause.
