Chapter 44 - the secret meeting
Before activating the malware, Arthur decided to visit the federal prison. He wanted to brag to the father serving a life sentence about the grand revenge plan he had meticulously orchestrated to completely destroy Claire's family.
Sitting across the tempered glass, Mark was now just a sickly old man, coughing violently. When hearing Arthur passionately recount his plot to crash the charity fund, Mark showed no pride at all. Instead, his face revealed absolute, utter terror.
"Stop it, son," Mark pleaded desperately, tears welling in his eyes. "I lost everything because of arrogance. Claire is not someone to mess with. She will crush you. This hatred will only burn your life to the ground."
Arthur angrily slammed his hand on the table. He didn't expect the father he wanted to avenge to be such a coward. "She scared you into losing your mind. I will prove to you that I can smash her throne to pieces."
