Chapter 46 - the pre-set trap
Arthur frantically slammed his hands on the keyboard, trying to reset the pathway, but it was useless. The system hadn't crashed; it had been hijacked. Immediately after, the camera on his laptop automatically lit up.
Max's calm and incredibly cold face appeared on the screen. The young man smirked. "Your coding is very good, Arthur. But you forgot that I am the one who built this defense system."
Max explained that right from the moment Claire warned him, he had put Arthur into a sandbox server system. All the data Arthur had infiltrated and manipulated over the past month was just a fake, virtual environment.
The billion-dollar cash flow he thought he had stolen was actually just virtual numbers programmed by Max to deceive him. His plot had been perfectly and comprehensively exposed right from the very first steps.
"Don't go anywhere. My mother wants to talk to you," Max said before the screen went black.
