Chapter 19 - peace returns

After the purge of the Falcone gang, a new, solid order was established in the underworld on the East Coast. No other force dared to challenge Dante's authority, much less dare to mess with his family.
Going through terrifying storms, the bond between Dante, Elena, and little Ivy grew increasingly stronger and more sacred. They realized that happiness did not lie in power, but in the peace of waking up every day.
Dante decided to gradually shift the gang's operations toward legitimate businesses. He used his massive wealth to establish a large charity foundation dedicated to protecting and helping destitute children.
That was his way of atoning for past mistakes and building a better foundation for his daughter's future. The image of the cold, ruthless boss was gradually replaced by the image of a powerful philanthropist.
One warm weekend afternoon, the extended family hosted an outdoor barbecue in the garden behind the estate. The dog Argo, with his sleek, shiny black coat, was happily running after a ball with little Ivy.
