Chapter 6 - The Sister's Treason

Before Dante could process the earth-shattering reality that Elena was not only alive, but had given birth to a daughter, the heavy mahogany doors of the mansion violently slammed open again.

"Bosow! I told you to shoot that filthy mutt and throw the brat back in the cellar!"

Stepping out onto the stone patio was Camilla, Dante’s older sister. She wore a luxurious white mink coat, her face twisted into a mask of cruel, arrogant entitlement. For five years, Camilla had operated as Dante’s second-in-command, manipulating his grief to consolidate her own power within the syndicate.

Camilla stopped dead in her tracks.

She looked down at the courtyard, fully expecting to see the dog dead and the child dragged away. Instead, she saw her terrifying, ruthless brother kneeling in the freezing water, holding the little girl’s hand, staring at the silver engagement ring.

All the color violently drained from Camilla's face. Her arrogant sneer completely collapsed into sheer, suffocating panic.

"Dante..." Camilla stammered, frantically gripping the stone railing. "What are you doing? Get away from her! She's just a crazy servant's kid! The dog is feral!"

Dante slowly stood up. He didn't look at his sister immediately. He carefully placed his suit jacket over Ivy's shivering shoulders, his hands lingering for a protective second.
