Chapter 36 - the impenetrable fortress

At midnight, Marcus's mercenary squad, equipped with state-of-the-art weapons, approached the estate's perimeter using infrared binoculars. They thought wealth had made the people living inside let their guard down.
But the moment the first soldier's boot touched the grass, the entire garden floodlight system shut off. Darkness enveloped them. A low alarm siren blared, signaling the lethal defense system had been activated.
From blind spots, millimeter-precise sniper fire slammed into the arms of the intruders. They panicked and fired back blindly into the air, but only got agonizing screams of men dropping in return.
Dante stood on the second-floor balcony, calmly observing the battle. Beside him, a large sheepdog was growling, its eyes glowing in the night. He didn't need to act personally, because the legacy of protection ran deep within the family.
