Chapter 24 - springing the trap

Leonardo hastily opened the file folder, his face turning as white as a sheet of paper. All his financial resources had been tightly locked down. Dante didn't use guns to destroy him; he used his own rules of the game to push him into a corner.

"I bought all your debts. From this moment on, you are officially bankrupt," Dante said, his voice cold as ice. "And I won't give you a second chance to run away like fifteen years ago."

Suddenly, from outside the doors, a federal police force stormed in with an arrest warrant for Leonardo on charges of money laundering and financial fraud. Dante had provided all the evidence to the police—a perfect and legal punitive strike.

When the figure-eight handcuffs snapped onto Leonardo's wrists, he screamed in despair. He had spent his entire youth planning revenge, only to be completely crushed in a mere twenty-four hours.

The arrogance of a rebel had paid a heavy price. Dante's empire had once again proven its invulnerability. The boss turned on his heel and walked out of the hotel, leaving the screaming behind.
