Chapter 20 - the immortal heart

The years passed gently and smoothly, bringing countless good things. The small girl Ivy, who had once drawn a heart on the bodyguard's cheek all those years ago, had now blossomed into a beautiful, intelligent, and resilient young woman.

Her mother's resilience and compassion, along with her father's absolute protective power, had forged her into a special girl. Ivy was not arrogant, but always showed love for vulnerable lives.

The dog Argo was old now, his steps slow, but he always stuck by Ivy's side, never leaving her for a single step. The friendship between the little girl and the once-injured beast was a beautiful testament to the power of understanding.

At Ivy's 18th birthday gala, Dante hugged his beloved daughter tightly, dancing the first waltz under the sparkling crystal chandeliers. Elena watched them from afar, the corners of her eyes stinging with absolute, fulfilling happiness.

"You are the most wonderful gift God has bestowed upon my life," Dante whispered, his kind smile softening the rugged lines on his face.

The scars, whether on their bodies or in their souls, had finally all been healed by unconditional love. A family had walked through the darkest hell to find the radiant and immortal light of paradise.
