Chapter 14 - ruthless verdict
As the final gunshot faded and the smoke gradually cleared, the bloody carnage in the courtyard was revealed. Damian stepped out the front door, his leather heels striking heavy beats against the brick pavement. The severely wounded leader of the Black Mamba gang was crawling through a pool of blood.
He looked up at the mafia boss in sheer terror. "Damian... spare me... Someone paid me to do this!" he wheezed, dropping all his arrogance. He realized he had just stumbled into a terrifying tiger's den.
"Who paid you?" Damian asked, the dark barrel of his gun pointing straight at the center of the enemy's forehead.
"It's... it's Victor! He wasn't exiled! He linked up with us from down at the cargo ship!" the leader screamed in desperation.
Damian's eyes went pitch black. He had granted his younger brother one final act of clemency, yet Victor chose to betray him once again. Mercy was never allowed to exist for those who dared to threaten his daughter's life.

"You have fulfilled your duty as a messenger," Damian said coldly. He pulled the trigger decisively. The death sentence was executed instantly. The real threat was still lurking somewhere in the shadows.
