Chapter 4 - The Submission

The terrifying, giant black Cane Corso stopped snarling.

The heavy, aggressive tension melted from the dog's massive frame. With a soft, almost imperceptible whine, the deadly beast lowered its head and stepped forward.

Bruno completely submitted. The 150-pound killer gently rested its massive, heavy head directly against Sophia’s small, outstretched hand.

Sophia smiled softly, her tiny fingers gently stroking the dark fur between the dog’s ears. Bruno let out a heavy sigh, leaning his weight against her small legs in a profound, undeniable display of absolute loyalty and protection.

Behind the desk, Damian’s cold, authoritative facade cracked for a fraction of a second. The 40-year-old mafia boss watched, visibly stunned by the child’s incredible lack of fear. He had raised Bruno to be a monster, trusting the dog more than he trusted his own blood relatives. To see the beast bow to a six-year-old was nothing short of miraculous.

Victor, however, was hyperventilating. He realized his entire extortion plan was violently unraveling.
