Chapter 72 - the unseen adversary

Alexander Junior did not rely on international coast guards or slow-moving federal agencies. He immediately activated the Cross family's private, highly elite intelligence network.
Marcus Junior, the seasoned and brilliant captain of security, tracked the missing vessels using classified, military-grade satellite imagery.
"They disabled the standard transponders, Alexander," Marcus Junior reported, his face glowing in the harsh blue light of the massive digital monitors. "But they couldn't hide the massive thermal wake of the engines. The ships were hijacked and diverted to a heavily fortified private island in the Mediterranean Sea."
The remote island belonged to Darius Vance, a ruthless, exiled European arms dealer who had built a massive black-market empire out of human suffering.
Darius utterly despised the Cross family's philanthropic dominance. He intended to strip the medical ships, sell the advanced pharmaceutical supplies on the dark web to the highest bidder, and weaponize the massive vessels for his own cartel.
Sophia walked quietly into the war room, her presence still commanding absolute, terrifying authority. She looked at the satellite images on the screen, then at her son.

"Darius thinks we are just soft corporate doctors," Alexander Junior said, his voice dropping into a lethal, vibrating growl that perfectly echoed his grandfather. "He thinks we forgot how to wage war in the dark."
