Chapter 71 - the silent waters

Ten years passed since Alexander Junior and Clara exchanged their eternal vows under the blooming white roses. The Cross medical foundation had grown into an absolutely unstoppable global force, funding and operating state-of-the-art pediatric hospitals on every single continent.
Their beautiful daughter, Elara, was now a fearless and fiercely intelligent eight-year-old girl, having inherited the unbroken, majestic spirit of her grandmother, Sophia.
The sprawling Boston estate remained a flawless, impenetrable sanctuary, guarded by a massive, jet-black Cane Corso named Ares, the direct and lethal descendant of the legendary Maximus and Bruno.
But absolute peace in the Cross family was never truly eternal. A new, unprecedented threat suddenly emerged from the deep, lawless international waters.

There was no ransom note. No global terrorist group claimed responsibility. The massive vessels simply ceased to exist on global radar.
Alexander Junior stood in the highly secure underground war room beneath the estate, his brown eyes turning as cold and dark as the midnight ocean.
